Farm info:
From the heart of Sul de Minas, Brazil’s premier coffee-growing region, comes a farm unlike any other. Fazenda Pinhal, a 914-hectare estate owned by the Gabarra Teixeira family, is a beacon of sustainability, innovation, and exceptional coffee quality.
Only 33% of the land is planted with coffee (296 hectares) while the rest is dedicated to natural reserves, eucalyptus forests, and pastureland, reflecting a deep commitment to biodiversity and environmental balance. In 2019, Fazenda Pinhal was proudly named Brazil’s most sustainable coffee farm.
The farm generates 100% of its energy from solar panels, installed in 2019, and supports local ecology through initiatives like a bird sanctuary for injured wildlife and collaborative research with regional universities.
Employee wellbeing is central at Pinhal. Workers benefit from dental care plans and ongoing research into safe, sustainable labor practices, a rare and commendable focus in the coffee industry.
This coffee is a pulped natural, harvested mechanically and sorted for ripeness. Only the ripest cherries are pulped and dried on patios for 7–10 days, ensuring even, consistent development
